Journal of Plant Protection is committed to ensuring ethics in publication and quality of articles.

Conformance to standards of ethical behavior is therefore expected of all parties involved: Authors, Editors, Reviewers, and the Publisher.

Authors:

Authors are required to present an objective presentation of their research work and provide sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the experiment results. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. Review articles should also be objective, comprehensive, and accurate accounts of the state of the art. The authors should ensure that their work is entirely original works, and if the work and/or words of others have been used, this has been appropriately acknowledged. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Authors should not submit articles describing essentially the same research to more than one journal. The corresponding author should ensure that there is a full consensus of all co-authors in approving the final version of the paper and its submission for publication.

Editors:

Editors should evaluate manuscripts exclusively on the basis of their academic merit. An editor must not use unpublished information in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. Editors should take reasonable responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper.

Reviewers:

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviews should be conducted objectively, and observations should be formulated clearly with supporting arguments, so that authors can use them for improving the paper. Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts when they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Conflicts of Interest:

All authors must disclose any/all conflicts of interest that is important to the outcome of the research, including but not limited to the financial or personal relationships or affiliations, institution or product mentioned in the manuscript, potential editor and/or reviewer who may deal with the manuscript. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts when they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.  Articles submitted by the Editor-in-Chief or an Editor of the publication shall be handled by another Editor of the publication.

Post-publication Discussions and Corrections:

For a published paper, errors that could affect the scientific interpretation, scientifically relevant formatting changes and addition/removal of an entire reference should be corrected by publishing a Correction. Decisions about Correction is made by Editor-in-Chief. Once the update request has been approved, the correction will be publishing in the most current Issue of the journal. With inadvertent errors made during the research process, gross ethical breaches, fabrication of data, large amounts of plagiarism, or other reasons, a published paper may need to be retracted. Decisions about Retraction is made by Editor-in-Chief. The Retraction will be publishing in the most current Issue of the journal. The reason must be given in the published Correction or Retraction note.

Open Access:

Journal of Plant Protection (JPP) is an open access journal, all articles which are published in JPP are permanently free for everyone to read, download and share. A Copyright Transfer Agreement Form should be included in the initial submission. Authors should also obtain permission to publish from the copyright holder for any previously published content before submission (including quotations, figures or tables). 

Data Sharing and Reproducibility:

Authors should deposit the data underpinning their research in appropriate repositories. All data associated with the research in a manuscript should be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR), thereby enabling other researchers to replicate and build on that research. All research data should be presented to the referees and the editors to facilitate the review process upon request.

Complaints and Appeals:

Should authors have complaints about the behavior of any Journal editor, reviewer, or staff member, they should first attempt to contact the Managing Editor (see page Contact Us). Any behavior that may related to research misconduct should directly report to the Chairman of Editorial Board.
